Basically I try and shy away from talking about things that are obviously "spiritual" except with certain people I converse with who like talking about such things with me. This is purely because of the fact that most people just hear you talk about things like the universe or your higher self or your inner child or your energy body and they instantly start shutting down, closing off because of “wow man, you’re just being too spiritual”. Spirituality is often attached all to quickly to religion, but religion is about beliefs (and a whole lot more), whilst Spirituality, or just spirit just is with no judgements and no polarity (take note religion!).
The truth is that spirituality is real, it is what we all are; there is nothing weird or "out there" about spirituality. The truth is, if something is not rational and tangible and within our mental grasp, at least as far as our conscious minds and our cognitive thinking is concerned, then it is instantly and very lazily labeled as spiritual. Anything that we can’t rationalize and make sense of and give a label to easily is labeled spiritual. From that perspective then, is it not fair to say that all the goings on inside your computer is spiritual. Right now as you are reading this post – you are reading words in the English language – what is going on underneath the words, what’s created this website, is programming of some kind. Its code, HTML or whatever the website happens to be coded in and on an even lower level than that, beyond the code are all the electrons flying around within the circuitry inside the computer. Everything that is going on down there at an atomic level which is energy, flying around at the speed of light inside your computer, is spirit. It’s the very engine of existence that we cannot put into words running the show. It’s just what is.Your computer and everything else for that matter is, at its core spiritual.
The truth is that everything comes down to a point where it can’t be rationally explained. It is like trying to describe to somebody, who doesn’t speak English, or who speaks English but it is not their native language, what certain English words mean when they have no equivalent word in that person’s mother tongue. You can’t define the word because the word itself is the definition. It’s not very easy, you have to go down to a much more basic level and speak almost as a child to that person in order to try to describe or explain what that word actually means in a way that makes sense to them.
Unfortunately the word spirituality has a lot of baggage attached to it as do other words like ‘God’, ‘love’ and probably many others that I could mention and the truth is that spirituality is simply the mechanics, if you like, of what is going on underneath the skin and bones and it is all the non-physical material which exists which makes the physical possible. Spirituality is the backdrop to all that we define as real when in reality the space between the objects is just as real and just as much in existence as the objects themselves. So spirituality is simply a backdrop without which nothing would have any meaning, any context and ultimately would not exist.
For those of you who insist your life is "Not a spiritual journey" I’m sorry to break it to you, but it is, but that fact needn’t affect your life if you don’t want it to.
