The Hero I want to be

…Is the Hero You Are

It is important to remember that if there is anything you want to be in life, whatever it is, say you are inspired to be like somebody you admire or respect then to some degree that is a reflection of who you really are and that feeling of inspiration you have to be like that person is actually a message from your heart reminding you of the fact that you have that capacity yourself. So with that in mind what can you do about that?

Well how about starting out pretending?

Did you have heroes as a child? Probably a silly question because we all did. We all wanted to be somebody, either on the TV, in the movies or on the cover of a magazine or a record. So with that in mind, do you remember how fun it was to stand in front of the mirror and be that person? I used to imagine that I was on Top of the Pops (a UK music chart show and an institution in itself, which ran on TV for nearly 40 years).

I don’t remember ‘being’ any one particular pop or rock star, but I used to have pictures of it in my mind as I went to sleep at night, but I can see how those thought have shaped who I am today. I am a musician and a songwriter combining the desire to inspire you to create more choice in how your life unfolds whilst fulfilling my own passions of making music, which I am doing through my work at my Music website – Boy at Heart. This brings me to my main point.

In order to achieve something you have to believe you can achieve it right? Also in order to believe it, you may have to apply some discipline for your mind, so you can maintain a state of confidence and certainty in your achievement being realized.

As kids we found it easy, in fact natural to act out the roles of our heroes in front of a mirror or in our minds, so what’s wrong with doing that now? Only instead of wanting to be Brad Pitt or Madonna, imagine the YOU that you want to be yourself. It’s a lot easier to imagine what it would be like to be living the life and being the person you want to be and the feelings you create within yourself you imagine it, which I would assume are the feelings you desire to have will prevail as long as you exercise the discipline of focusing on that feeling as often as possible, until it is automatic, by which time you may be surprised (or not) to notice that you have become the person you want to be and all that comes with it.

It doesn’t have to take a lifetime to achieve that.
