The Cure is Indeed Not in a Pill
I had to write this today. It’s just too important not to.
Today I woke up with aching legs, sciatic pain in fact. It stems from an old back injury and reappears occasionally. Yesterday I felt extremely exhausted, not in the best of health and, well, a bit like my body was breaking down. The day before that I was suffering an all-day headache, which built up until it was just plain hellish, even though I have successfully used a simple Silva-Life-System mind exercise to keep such things at bay several times before.
Wow, you could say I have hit a "bad patch" this week!
Today came the breakthrough and proof to me that it is indeed all in the mind and the single, solitary cause for my less than usual sparkling health and vitality. That cause is stress.
Stress is an intriguing beast because it isn’t always the result of things that are labeled "stressful". The last couple of weeks I have been working (a little too many hours) on programming the website and systems for the relaunch of my book and music album package. I’ve not got time to go into that here and now. I’ll plug that another time.
The work I have been doing is something I enjoy and the end result, having a great product of my own created and selling is something I enjoy even more. However, it seems stress can be caused by doing something you enjoy too it seems if you end up neglecting your well-being in the process.
Actually, today I was not in the best of moods and I truly believe, looking at it in hindsight that it was the gradual build up of stress that contributed to that because I had no obvious reason for being grumpy, but I was today. Then something happened this evening, which inspired this article.
I had an idea for a project, which excited me so much I was marching around my house, bashing out details and possible outcomes, possible people to involve and the idea and the plan just got bigger and I got more excited.
My imagination was running wild and as it got more and more creative, so too did new exciting details and extra twists that contributed to the overall, initial idea. I was on fire. I explained my idea to my wife who could see the fire in my eyes and hear it in my voice. She was impressed. Part of my spirit broke out of me today that had been kept under wraps doing something that I had turned from being something I enjoy into something that "Needed to be done and out of the way".
I sat back down with a clear picture of my idea, which I am going to write out tonight and fine tune details, so I can turn it into a plan of action, and I got back to work on what I was doing before. My legs had stopped aching. In fact all the extra aches and pains that had built up throughout the day and the lethargy I had been feeling, were gone.
I felt re-energized and alive again and to quote one of my favorite movie characters, played by Samuel L Jackson I had a moment of clarity
The moment I was in the moment, creating something in my mind, being authentic to myself and engaging in thoughts and ideas that inspired me and made me feel really good about myself was when aches, pains and lethargy disappeared. It was literally like flipping a switch.
So I guess that one way to make yourself feel better and I mean physically, not just mentally is to have an inspiring idea or to put it another way, just spend some time thinking about something you love. I think that could actually be enough.
For example, you may be a long way away form your family right now and feeling stressed about your situation. See if you can take a few minutes out to think about them and think about a time you remember fondly when you were last with them. I guarantee it will make you feel better. I mean better for your health, better!

Hi Maria,
Yes it certainly does have that effect doesn't it? It's worth keeping in mind as often as possible because it is a very quick way to start feeling better.
