Don't Worry

The Ones You Make Without Realizing

As I wrote about in my last article about when I gave up smoking, What you intend isn’t always a conscious intention. In fact it most often isn’t. Over the last few years I have been putting conscious effort into affirmations and bringing more awareness of what I say and do habitually. In that time I have also been making some sort of mental note about how things have come about, so I can get myself into a habit of naturally being in the most effective mindset for positive development in my life.

What I have found isn’t exactly groundbreaking, but may serve as a reminder for how to help influence your mind’s activity on a day to day basis.

As far as affirmations go I have found that the ones that bring about the most effective change are the ones that you have forgotten about. Well not truly forgotten, but the ones where you were not so emotionally invested in the outcome. This explains why things like finding a parking space in the crowded car park seem easier to manifest than, say a million dollars because the consequences of not getting the former seem far less disappointing than that of the latter. There’s far less at stake, so to speak.

It’s easier to let go of the things that have less apparent importance to you, so guess what you manifest more easily?

The biggest breakthrough I had in 2010 was when I managed to get myself into a state of mind like this (not concerned about the outcome) about something I really, really wanted. There’s no easy way to explain how to do it, except practice and how you do that is dependent on who you are. There is no "One size fits all" method here (no matter what some, so-called experts will tell you).

Reprogram your mind? Yes indeed. I believe that is the key, but not all minds are reprogrammed in quite the same way due to us all having different minds. What works for you will always be based around something that grabs your interest, sparks you imagination and helps you maintain detachment from the end result whilst being clear about it. In short being able to enjoy all the moments preceding the fulfillment of your desire, independently of the desire. That will strengthen your intent to make it come about at all.

Whenever I am practicing meditation regularly this comes more easily because meditation works for me. Whenever I slack off on the meditation things slow down and seem to go off the boil. This is not magic, but simply a case of the fitness of my mindset being particularly susceptible to whether I meditate or not.

Try to determine your best method for maintaining a healthy mindset and keeping you on track. Find it and you’ve got the keys to your desired outcomes!
