As a break from all the "Mind" stuff, listen to this interesting podcast about repetition in songwriting.

Repetition is something I do rather a lot, but not without purpose. Repetition is what makes habits stick and whether you are aware of it or not, you are always repeating yourself in the form of habitual thoughts and behaviour, some more obvious than others, that give rise to what occurs in your life.

The repetition I try to cultivate in my life is to create habits focused on creating the results I desire and a bonus side effect of making a concerted effort to repeat and reiterate things to myself, in order for them to become rooted in beneficial habit I discover habits and repetitive behaviour that I was not previously aware.

When you become aware of a habit you have that detracts from the achievement of your goals, you have uncovered an opportunity to clear a major obstacle in the path to your achievements. One of the best ways to uncover repetitive behaviour that does not serve your cause is to get into a habit of repeating conscious and better serving habits. Once you are more aware of the need to repeat and re-impress certain images, thoughts and feelings in order to bring about desired change – i.e. consciously being the cause to your desired effects, you become more adept at spotting the obstacles you place in the way with unconscious habits.

Repetition is an art of course, you have to find ways to keep it fresh and inspiring.
