The Belief Scale - Neural reconditioning

Naysayers – The Opposing Forces

As mentioned before in the last article about the belief scale, it becomes easier to create the results you want after you have some real life results that show you definite progress in your chosen direction. This doesn’t have to be big results though, depending on how much awareness you bring to your everyday and to your intentions, even something that could otherwise have occurred without you noticing may give you the required insight and evidence that your plans are working.

Awareness is key! It will also help you to understand and deal with the lack of belief from other people, especially people who are important to you. It may not be a deliberate attempt by them to undermine your plans or discourage you, but every comment like "What will you do when it doesn’t work out" or "That sounds like a pipe dream" will have that affect, no matter how determined you are to prove them wrong or whether you feel more doubtful due to their comments or not.

On a subconscious level, they will increase your own doubts and this is the opposing force of the belief scale, holding you back. I used to get pretty winded by those kinds of comments, even though they were often said to me by people who believed they were helping me out with caring advice.

Even people I knew who had some success in similar fields to the one that I was pursuing would allude to the fact that I would be wasting my time trying to do succeed in my chosen path. Admittedly I set the bar high. To make a living making music, especially writing and recording in a location where there isn’t really a music industry (at least not one in English) sounds crazy, but I had my reasons for choosing where I wanted to be and that didn’t change what I wanted to do, so whether or not anyone else believes it was possible or not I do and I have the proof now. I am doing it.

It can only get better from here I now have faith that my bigger goals around making music for a living are now just another step on the path that I am now succeeding at and enjoying walking. Faith in my dreams has made every goal I have simply something to include instead of something to strive for.

If you can’t help but listen to naysayers then make it part of your intention to show them with results that you did the right thing, not to prove them wrong, but to give them more belief in themselves and to inspire them to see things more in terms of what is possible instead of what could go wrong.
